Mad Fish Wooden Toy

Designer:n. David Teixeira

Hook, line and sinker. The mandate for this project was simple: produce a child's toy which could move (while being pushed or pulled) and produce two additional movements while doing so. The materials had to be predominantly wood, though metals and plastics were allowed for the internal mechanisms.

The to conceptualized and built for this project was the "Mad Fish"; a toy fish with wheels which could pop its fin up and down while rolling its eyes at it moved across the floor, giving it a silly or "mad" appearance. To help propell this toy, a small, wooden fishing rod was constructed and attached to the front of the fish, allowing a child to reel the fish in.
